IndiGo Flight Catches Fire – DGCA Orders Probe

The IndiGo flight was grounded at the Delhi airport after sparks were spotted in the aircraft, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation ordered a thorough inquiry to determine the reason and indicated that appropriate follow-up action would be taken.

“An Indigo A320-Ceo operating flight 6E-2131 from Delhi to Bangalore, registered VT-IFM, was involved in a rejected takeoff as an Engine Two Fail warning appeared. There was a resounding bang. The bottle of fire extinguisher was released. The plane made its way back to the bay. For inspection, it has been grounded, according to a senior DGCA official.

After a video of the incident became popular on social media, the aviation surveillance officer got involved.

The DGCA was instructed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation to start an investigation into the event.

According to reports, the flight from Delhi to Bangalore had an engine stall during the takeoff roll and had to land at the Delhi airport.

The takeoff was canceled, and the plane returned to the bay, according to the official press release. A different plane is being organized to handle the flight, and both the passengers and the crew are safe.

Another aircraft was being planned for the operation, according to an Indigo representative.

An Indigo representative stated, “All customers are being accommodated on an alternative plane.”
